Notable Research Achievements

UWO Medicine Ranking - Best Scientists: Position in the ranking is based on each scientist’s D-index using data compiled from OpenAlex and CrossRef by December 21st 2022. The total sum for the D-index values for the best scientists in University of Western Ontario is 2,308 with a mean value for the h-index of 92.32. The total sum of publications for the best scientists in University of Western Ontario is 12,145 with the mean value for publications per scientist of 485.80.

Elsevier Top Cited Scientists: The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field. This version (6) is based on the October 1, 2023 snapshot from Scopus, updated to end of citation year 2022.

Reminder – New Full-Time Statistician

This is a reminder that DOM members now have access to a full-time statistician. Dr Ebenezer Ogunsakin (PhD) has joined the Department of Medicine, Program of Experimental Medicine (POEM) in the position of full-time Statistician, adding to our existing complement of part-time statisticians.

Ebenezer has relocated to London from Edmonton where he was working for Alberta Education as an analyst. Prior to this, Ebenezer was at the School of Health Systems & Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pretoria, South Africa where he was a Senior Lecturer of Biostatistics and retains a cross appointment. His research interests include Bayesian statistics, spatial statistics, spatial clustering, disease mapping, environmental statistics, linear models, meta-analysis, randomized response techniques and survey methodology. Ebenezer has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications and has presented his work at many international conferences.

Ebenezer has a BSc in Statistics from the University of Ado-Ekiti in Nigeria, MSc in Statistics from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and PhD in Statistics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

To request service, please download and complete the "POEM Statistical Service and Request Form" or reach out to POEMadmin@lhsc.on.ca for assistance.
