David Hill
Dr. David Hill represented Health Care CAN, the national association for academic hospitals, at a national cross-sector stakeholder Round Table held in February on the future direction and integration of stakeholder resources for health research in Canada. The Round Table in Ottawa brought together over 150 individuals representing 70 organizations from federal and provincial governments, research councils, universities, research hospitals, health charities, health professional organizations, biotechnology companies and health care manufacturers. The outcome was a consensus that the sector should not be passive in waiting for direction from the next Government of Canada. Given present external threats to resources within Canada, the sector stakeholders will organize to create a sustainable future model of health innovation based on patient needs, national priorities and present areas of excellence.
