Searching for an internal or external funding opportunity? Click on the headings below for more information on common research opportunities.

Western
Here you will find links to the three Western Strategic Support for CIHR Success grants: Seed, Bridge and Accelerator. These internal grants are targeted to researchers who are pursuing CIHR related research, and offer critical, one-time funding to support an investigator's research activities and development of a competitive submission to a Tri-Council grant competition. Under Finding Funding you will find more funding opportunities.

Schulich
This site provides information on internal funds sponsored by Schulich, namely the Collaborative Research Seed Grant which provides seed funding to develop interdisciplinary collaborative research teams. Other opportunities listed include Schulich Equipment AID and Faculty Support for Research in Education. Links to external funders, i.e. CIHR, H&S, etc., are also provided.

Lawson
Lawson's internal opportunities are open to Lawson investigators; those who use hospital resources and credentials to conduct their research. This link provides information on Lawson's Internal Research Fund (IRF) and Strategic Research Fund (SRF). The site also provides links to external, federal, provincial, American and foundation opportunities.

AMOSO
Two funds open to Practice Plan members: 1. AMOSO Opportunities fund provides physician compensation for newly recruited AFP physicians within their first 5 years of faculty appointment, or AFP physicians in a new academic role, and 2. AMOSO Innovation fund which supports the development of new and innovative approaches to health care delivery. Contact POEMadmin@lhsc.on.ca for login credentials to the AMOSO website.

PSI Foundation
PSI Foundation provides funding for clinical research, medical education research and health systems research relevant to patient care. PSI supports lesser funded research. Two main operating grant opportunities are Health Research grants and New Investigator grants. There are no deadlines for these grants. You may submit your application anytime and should receive a decision within 6 months of applying. Patricia Riccio at Lawson Research can help you with your PSI applications: patricia.riccio@lawsonresearch.com, Ext. 65575.

CIHR
This link will take you to Research Net which lists the current CIHR funding opportunities, including Project Grant, Foundation Grant and various Operating Grants.

Heart and Stroke
This link takes you to the Heart & Stroke Grant-in-Aid (GIA) program guidelines. The GIA funding competition supports research operating costs for projects in the areas of cardiovascular and/or cerebrovascular research.
