Geriatric Medicine
MONIDIPA DASGUPTA, MD, FRCPC, Associate Professor

Dr. Dasgupta is an associate professor in the division of Geriatric Medicine at Western University. She practices in both the acute care and ambulatory settings at London Health Sciences Centre and Parkwood Institute. She is a consultant on the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) service, and the clinical lead for the geriatric consult-liaison service. Her clinical and research interests include delirium, hospital care for the elderly and non-pharmacologic approaches to managing behaviors in hospitalized seniors with cognitive disorders. She started a multi-disciplinary restraint reduction committee for the Acute Care for the Elderly service at London Health Sciences center and is actively involved in trying to decrease restraint use in the hospital. She and her team of geriatric nurse practitioners (the No Holds- Alternatives to Restraints for Respect, Mobility and Safety – No-HARRMS) were awarded the 2025 Patient Safety Champion award from the London Health Sciences Centre for their work on physical restraint reduction.

UDAY DEOTARE, MD,?MBBS, MScHQ, DRCPSC, Associate Professor

Dr Uday Deotare is an Assistant Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at London Health Sciences Centre, London, Ontario, Canada. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Haematology at Western University and additional cross appointment with Department of Oncology. He completed his initial medical degree, residency in medicine and Haematology in India. In June 2017, Dr Deotare completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in the area of Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Toronto before being appointed to his Faculty position at Western University in London, Ontario. He further honed his skills in Quality Improvement by completing his Masters at Queens University in 2023. Dr Deotare has >45 publications to his credit and is a member of the Cellular Therapy and Transplant Canada (CTTC). His research interest includes Graft versus Host Disease, Post transplant viral infections and Quality Improvement and Innovation. For Dr Deotare, quality improvement is the backbone to his research interest, with involvement in decreasing length of stay of transplant patients and innovation in model of care delivery. He is involved in QI teaching with medical students and lead on a number of QI projects in the hospital.

Dr. Bryan F. Dias is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. He received his MD in 1992 from the University of Western Ontario. He completed a rotating internship with Victoria Hospital in London followed by completing his core internal medicine in cardiology residency at McMaster University. In 1999 to 2001 he did an echocardiographic fellowship at the University of Toronto (University Health Network). He joined the staff at the University of Western Ontario-Victoria Hospital in September 2001. He is the Medical Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology

Clinical Pharmacology
GEORGE DRESSER, MD, FRCPC, PhD, Associate Professor

Dr. Dresser completed his undergraduate and graduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. After receiving his accreditation in Clinical Pharmacology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship position in Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He is now an Associate Professor at the University of Western Ontario where he is active clinically in General Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology.

Dr. Dresser successfully defended his Ph.D. in Pharmacology in January, 2004. His thesis describes the effects of a number of dietary constituents and herbal products on drug absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. He is also interested in what the human genome can tell us about individual patient response to drug therapy.

Dr. Dresser is interested in better utilizing technology to enhance patient-physician interactions in the outpatient setting.
