Geriatric Medicine
MONIDIPA DASGUPTA, MD, FRCPC, Associate Professor

Dr. Dasgupta completed her medical degree from McGill University and did further post-graduate training in California (University of Southern California), University of Toronto and UWO. She completed her MSc. in epidemiology and biostatistics from UWO. She is actively involved in teaching residents and medical students in the medical clinical teaching units and the geriatric medicine subspecialty services. She is an active member of the Geriatric Fellowship Committee.

UDAY DEOTARE, MBBS, MD, Assistant Professor

Dr. Deotare completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training in India as well as specialization in Hematology from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore. He further harnessed his skills in the field of Bone marrow transplantation and made this his field of research and training. He subsequently completed Clinical Research Fellowship at Princess Margaret Cancer Center, Toronto in Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplantation. During his 4 years at PMH, he was involved in various clinical trials, clinical research and developing new protocols in his area of interest of Graft versus Host Disease. He also worked as a Junior Faculty in his last 2 years of Fellowship and developed special interest in Quality innovation during this time and will be pursuing his Masters in the same.

He is an Assistant Professor at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Division of Hematology and Department of Medicine. He also has a cross appointment with Department of Oncology. He is an Assistant Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program and Staff Physician in Hematology at LHSC. His research interests includes Graft versus Host Disease, post-transplant viral infections and Models of Care in Healthcare Quality. He is the member of the CBMTG CTN Group and Primary Investigator in major BMT Clinical trials.

BRYAN DIAS, MD, FRCPC, Associate Professor

Dr. Bryan F. Dias is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. He received his MD in 1992 from the University of Western Ontario. He completed a rotating internship with Victoria Hospital in London followed by completing his core internal medicine in cardiology residency at McMaster University. In 1999 to 2001 he did an echocardiographic fellowship at the University of Toronto (University Health Network). He joined the staff at the University of Western Ontario-Victoria Hospital in September 2001. He is the Medical Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology

Clinical Pharmacology
GEORGE DRESSER, MD, FRCPC, PhD, Associate Professor

Dr. Dresser completed his undergraduate and graduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. After receiving his accreditation in Clinical Pharmacology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship position in Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He is now an Associate Professor at the University of Western Ontario where he is active clinically in General Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology.

Dr. Dresser successfully defended his Ph.D. in Pharmacology in January, 2004. His thesis describes the effects of a number of dietary constituents and herbal products on drug absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. He is also interested in what the human genome can tell us about individual patient response to drug therapy.

Dr. Dresser is interested in better utilizing technology to enhance patient-physician interactions in the outpatient setting.

Hypertension - (any aspect: clinical approach, risk stratification, secondary causes, rational therapeutics, etc). Recently working on web based medical history direct entry by patients.
