ARSH JAIN, MD, FRCPC, Associate Professor Dr. Arsh Jain is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. VIPUL JAIRATH, MD, FRCPC, Associate Professor Dr. Vipul Jairath is a gastroenterologist, specializing in the management of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, endoscopy and a range of general gastrointestinal disorders. He trained in the United Kingdom and has degrees in pharmacology and medicine from the University of Leeds, a PhD (DPhil) from the University of Oxford and diploma in clinical trials from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He joined Western University in 2016 as Associate Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and is the recipient of John and Susan Mcdonald endowed chair. His research interests are in the design, conduct and implementation of randomized controlled trials, index development and outcomes research. He has received peer reviewed grant funding from several organizations and supervises students both at masters and doctoral level. SAMIRA JEIMY, MD, PhD, FRCPC, ABIM Assistant Professor Dr. Jeimy completed medical school and internal medicine residency at the University of Toronto, followed by clinical immunology and allergy fellowship at Western University. She completed PhD studies in platelet immunology at McMaster University, supported by a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Banting and Best Doctoral Award. She is board certified in internal medicine (FRCPC, ABIM), and in clinical immunology and allergy (FRCPC). She is an assistant professor at Western University and the Program Director for Clinical Immunology and Allergy at Western University. Her research interests include food and drug allergy, and she engages in multi-centre research from colleagues across the country. She is a co-chair of the scientific sessions committee at the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Her medical advocacy efforts include allergy education through social media (@allergies_explained on instagram; @drsamirajeimy on X) and collaborations including with the “Focused COVID Communications” group, which creates decision aids, clinical tools, and infographics. She is the OMA Women committee chair, OMA Allergy section Vice-Chair, and Women in Allergy and Immunology c-chair. TISHA JOY, MD, FRCPC, Associate Professor Dr. Joy received her medical degree from the Western University, Canada in 2001. After completing residency training at Western University in 2006, she went on to be a research fellow specializing in HIV lipodystrophy at Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School) in Boston, MA. Upon completion of this in 2007, she pursued another research fellowship in genetic lipodystrophies and dyslipidemia at Robarts Research Institute, London, ON, until 2008. She is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Western University and Associate Scientist in the Lawson Health Research Institute. Her research interests include type 2 diabetes, obesity, and lipid disorders, including statin-associated muscle symptoms and has published several articles in these areas. She has been invited as a guest speaker for the Meet the Professor/Meet the Expert sessions at the American Heart Association and Endocrine Society conferences. She also has collaborated on research initiatives related to equity, diversity, and inclusion. She has a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell in 2021, and is the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Lead for the Department of Medicine (2023 to present).
